Costco Project Appears to be Revived in Cumming

A land purchase agreement has reportedly been signed between Costco officials and the owners of the land located at the intersection of Bald Ridge Marina Road and Market Place Boulevard.

Looks like plans to build a Costco store at the intersection of Bald Ridge Marina Road and Market Place Boulevard in Cumming is back on the drawing board.

Last May, the land for the 148,000 square-foot building and its 650-space parking lot was cleared and grading work started. Hay and grass were also put down to prevent erosion.

But work stopped the following month reportedly due to a dispute between Costco and the owners of land located off Ga. 400 at Exit 15.

But according to the Forsyth County News, the land owners – Emory Lipscomb and Jim Butler – have signed a land purchase agreement with Costco officials.

Lipscomb told the news outlet, “I’m looking forward to them coming. I think it’ll bring jobs and tax dollars and shopping opportunities that will be very helpful to the community.”
