Cumming Costco Opening Date Confirmed

The new store will bring 150 new jobs to the city.

Costco will officially open the doors of its Cumming location at the end of next month, according to reports.

The Forsyth Herald says that the store, which is located at Bald Ridge Marina and Market Place Boulevard in Cumming, will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony at 7:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 29.

Patch reported in March that the big box store was eyeing an August opening after resolving a dispute between itself and the owners of the land the store now sits on. The conflict had brought construction to a halt from June, 2013 until the March resolution.

Construction on the 148,000 sq. ft. building, a gas station, and 675 parking spots has proceeded unhindered since March. There will be a liquor store and tire center inside the main building.

Cumming's Mayor H. Ross Gravitt told The Forsyth Herald that the new retail store will bring around 150 new jobs to the area.
