Cumming Cracker Barrel Hiring Soon

The new Cumming Cracker Barrel is set to open March 5 and will be accepting job applications beginning Monday, Feb. 6.

Good news for fans of down home southern cooking - the new Cumming Cracker Barrel opens on Monday, March 5, according to the company's Web site.

For those of you looking for a job there is even better news – the company is looking for candidates to fill a variety of positions at the new location located at the intersection of Georgia 400 and Highway 20 in Cumming.

Spokesperson Julie Davis said Cracker Barrel will be accepting applications and conducting on site interviews at the new location beginning Monday, Feb. 6.

She said many of the available jobs up for grabs will include servers, host/hostess, grill cooks, retail positions, dishwashers and night maintenance crews. The hiring process will last for about two weeks, with training beginning on Feb. 27.

"We are really glad to join the Cumming community," Davis said.

and retail shop began last Sept. 19. The original store opened Sept. 19, 1969 near Lebanon, Tennessee under the ownership of Dan (Danny) W. Evins who passed away on Jan. 14 at the age of 76.

“Cracker Barrel has remained true to Danny’s vision in many ways, including the insistence on quality products at a fair price, and on genuine Southern hospitality," said Cracker Barrel President and CEO Sandra B. Cochran, in a news release. "How Danny thought about his guests and his business from the beginning is captured in ‘Pleasing People,’ our mission statement."

The company has more than 600 stores in 42 states. The Cumming location will soon be the 43rd Cracker Barrel in Georgia.

“We are always looking for vibrant areas that are poised for growth,” said Corporate Communications Manager Jeanne Ludington in an e-mail to Cumming Patch about why the Forsyth County location was chosen.
