Cumming Cracker Barrel Opens Monday

Can't wait to sink your teeth into a plate of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, hash browns, grits and biscuits?

Come Monday morning at 6 the doors of the new Cumming Cracker Barrel will swing open for business and all the breakfast items will be for the taking along with lunch and dinner favorites.

Cumming Patch was invited to a "soft opening" of VIP friends and neighbors which included local leaders. The breakfast event Friday gave new employees a practice round to serve invited guests before the store opens to the public.

The new location features new prototypes like larger tables, remodeled bathrooms and a well stocked country store full of colorful items for kids and adults.

"It's more modern, comfortable and spacious," said District Manager George Katsoudas.

The restaurant is about 10,000 square feet and is located at the intersection of Georgia 400 and Highway 20 in the Tri-County Plaza.

Katsoudas said the new location hired 186 employees with about 13 of those people who are commuting in from Alpharetta and Buford.

James McCoy, president of the said having the restaurant in town is a positive sign of investment within the community and a good sign of economic recovery to the area.

"I'm very proud to have it here," he said.

Mayor H. Ford Gravitt said the city looks for a long lasting relationship with Cracker Barrel.

"We can't wish you nothing but the best," Mayor Gravitt said.

The company has more than 600 stores in 42 states. The Cumming location is the 43rd Cracker Barrel in Georgia.
