NE Georgia Career Expo in Forsyth Tuesday

The expo will be held at Lanier Tech's Forsyth campus.

Northeast Georgia job seekers will have a unique opportunity on Tuesday, Feb. 25, to connect with more than 60 area companies looking to fill immediate job openings and future positions at a career expo in Forsyth County. During the expo, job seekers may participate in a live chat with experts on topics ranging from resumes, interviews and career transition.

The expo will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Lanier Tech’s Forsyth campus, 3410 Ronald Reagan Blvd. in Cumming. It is sponsored by the Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL), Lanier Technical College and the Cumming-Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce.

The live chat is designed to assist Georgia job seekers find their way back into the workforce. The questions will be fielded by experts from the GDOL, Lanier Tech and the Chamber of Commerce. Members of the public are encouraged to follow the conversation on Twitter and participate using #NEGAExpo.

Questions may also be submitted in advance to @GeorgiaDOL or via Facebook at www.Facebook.com/GeorgiaDOL. All questions will be answered during the chat.

Employers from manufacturing, staffing, retail, government, education, healthcare, computers/technology, industrial and other fields are registered to recruit at this event. Among the companies scheduled to participate include: KIK Custom Products, Theragenics Corporation, Wells Fargo Bank, Richo Electronics, Cargill, Inc., Owes, Mansfield Oil, Wayne Foods, Tyson Foods, Sherwin Williams, DataScan Technologies, North East Georgia Health Systems, Uniq Technologies, Vossloh Kiepe, Georgia Fluid Systems Technologies, Hansgrohe, Ace Hardware, and Black Bear.

Positions to be filled include: maintenance technicians and mechanics, electrical refrigeration technicians, office managers, IT network, certified nursing assistants, medical assistants, EMTs, LPNs, therapists, production and assembly-line workers, firefighters and fire medics, early childhood education teachers, associate control systems engineers, autocad, and drafters.

Job seekers taking part in the career expo should dress professionally, bring several copies of their resumes and be prepared to interview on site.
