Vocational/Technical degree with training emphasis in Fire Science and investigation; five (5) years previous experience and/or training that includes arson investigation, fire/building inspection, fire service management, fire safety, prevention, and suppression methods; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and/or Commercial Driver's License (CDL) including appropriate level/endorsement(s).  

Must meet all promotional eligibility requirements and certifications. Must attain and maintain valid Georgia Fire Academy certifications which are accredited by the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) and/or Georgia state licenses including Firefighter I, First Responder, Georgia certified Fire-Arson Investigator, Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) as a Police Officer, and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certifications.

Contract-to-Hire Technical Writer/Jr. Level, ProEdit

ProEdit has a need for a junior-level technical writer to work in our Cumming, office. This is a full-time, onsite, contract-to-hire position. Technical writers are an integral part of our documentation team and work closely with the project managers and writers in our Cumming office, as well as at various client sites. Executive Director, Family Haven

Family Haven is a non-profit organization that provides temporary, emergency shelter and program services to victims of domestic violence located in Forsyth County and servicing surrounding counties.

The Executive Director is responsible for managing and leading the temporary, emergency shelter and thrift store; managing a staff of 15; cultivating key relationships with community officials and nonprofit leaders; ensuring compliance with the GA Family Violence Act and GOCF regulations. The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors.

Required Skills Include (but not limited to):

  • Demonstrated business acumen (including experience preparing budgets and managing financial performance to budget)
  • Demonstrated experience in performance management (establishing goals, monitoring performance and accountability, coaching and providing feedback);
  • Demonstrated leadership and experience in leading and managing an organization, processes and programs;
  • Demonstrated communication skills and presentation skills;
  • Strong interpersonal skills;
  • Demonstrated experience in managing conflict;
  • Demonstrated personal and agency organizational skills;
  • Demonstrated ability in building working relationships with key stakeholders;
  • Demonstrated professionalism, ethics and integrity.

 Desired Skills Include (but not limited to):

  • Understanding of federal/state fund uses/restrictions;
  • Understanding of Georgia domestic violence statutes, VOCA, VAWA, CJCC and GOCF regulations;
  • Understanding of federal, state, local and private grant application processes;
  • Experience working with a Board of Directors;
  • Experience with client case management.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college in related field preferably in Non Profit Management or Non Profit Administration and three (3) years of professional experience in leadership role or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline (preferably business administration/management) and at least six (6) years of professional experience in a leadership role.
  • Successfully pass a criminal background check including fingerprinting;
  • Possess a valid GA driver’s license.
