Scott's Auto Center Awarded Top Shop In Georgia

Motor Age awards Scott's Auto Center the number one position in Georgia.

Integrity and honesty have driven straight to the top. Motor Age, the well-known professional Automotive Association and its panel of judges, awarded Scott's Auto Center its Top Shop number one position in Georgia and a top ten spot in the United States.

Hundreds of entries from across the country vie for the coveted ranking for a top ten position in Motor Age's Top Shop contest. The competition is steep, however, it allows Motor Age to carefully analyze and assess the nation's premier auto centers.

The criteria for the contest are based on certified technicians, experience, training & education, shop operations, community involvement, technical equipment, supplier relations, marketing and web presence. The judges pick out a Top Shop in the United States and nine other Top Shops.

"I was very overwhelmed when I got a call from Ohio (Motor Age) telling me that we had placed number one in Georgia and in the top ten in the U.S.," says Scott Muse, owner and Master Technician who has been a mechanic since 1978. "Personally this means more to me than any other accomplishment I have worked for including getting my interment rating as a pilot. The Top Shop ranking cannot be bought on a front cover of a magazine, it is totally bias by a panel of judges in Ohio and validates our professionalism in the industry," adds Muse.

Scott's Auto Center's reputation in the community derives from its core beliefs to build a business on honesty and integrity. People want honest repairs and they want their vehicles to be repaired professionally with a solid warranty.

"Most people also want to have a personal relationship with their shop and not feel as if they are simply a number in corporate America," explains Muse. "At Scott's Auto Center we try to make customers feel comfortable and explain their problem in a manner in which they will understand without a bunch of technical mumbo-jumbo," adds Muse.

Scott's Auto Center maintains more than just cars. Employees remain inspired through many benefits and rewards. The shop boasts a family atmosphere and the close-knit crew is treated to regular outings such as a deep-sea fishing excursion last year and an all-expenses paid excursion to the Indy 500. This camaraderie keeps employees in the shop and keeps customers coming back for the personal treatment and employee/customer relationships that have all but disappeared from other shops.

"The two things that stand out in my mind that have earned our reputation is when customers come into our center they're not going to be handed a big list of stuff they should have done to their car. Additionally, we have the best technicians in town, including six ASE Master Technicians out of nine techs. Most shops do not have more than one Master Technician if that," says Muse.

Scott Muse will be the first to tell you that building his reputation took time, and an unwavering commitment to honesty and integrity in the industry. That commitment has paid off in the Top Shop competition along with the shop's drive to assure customers they are in very capable hands in terms of domestic and foreign auto maintenance.

Scott's tip of the day:

"Did you know you should never pay for an oil disposal fee? Most shops get paid for their used oil for recycling!"
