Two Jackpots Climb After No Winners This Weekend

The first chance for Georgians to grab a really big payday—$130 million—is Tuesday's Mega Millions drawing. But a $400 million prize is up for grabs, too.

The stars didn’t align for any lottery players over the weekend, which means ticket buyers in Georgia may be in even more of a frenzy this week.

An estimated total of $436 million had been up for grabs in two multi-state lotteries. But no one matched the winning numbers of 9-22-28-48-54 and Mega Ball 8 in Friday’s Mega Millions drawing, which left the jackpot of about $119 million unclaimed. An even bigger prize of an estimated $317 million will go unrewarded after no tickets matched Saturday’s Powerball winning numbers—1-17-25-37-44 and Powerball 20.

Now, both lotteries’ top prizes will get a bit bigger. As of early Monday, the jackpot for Tuesday’s Mega Millions drawing stood at $130 million, while Wednesday’s Powerball prize hovered at the $400 million mark.
