Cumming resident, Emily Kallos Named Light The Night Campaign Director

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Georgia Chapter announces Emily Kallos as the new Light The Night Campaign Director.
In Emily’s new role, she will oversee the statewide growth of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light The Night Walk campaign. There are five walks currently planned for 2014 in Cumming, Augusta, Athens, Atlanta and Savannah. Emily Kallos started at LLS in September of 2012 as the Senior Campaign Manager of the 2013 Atlanta Light The Night Walk which raised $1.3 million. Emily was first involved with LLS as a member of the 2010 Team Dutch Monkey, a Light The Night Friends & Family team, which since 2010 has raised over $100K and is currently the largest friends and family team participating in the North Metro Walk.  Emily has also participated with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team In Training campaign for two events, the 2012 Rock ‘n’ Roll Savannah Half Marathon and the 2013 Spartan Race.
Prior to LLS, Emily was the personal lines manager at Risk Placement Services, an insurance managing general agency, for over eight years. Emily started her new role in November 2013 and takes over for Mary Colston who is now Donor Development Director for the chapter. Emily lives in Cumming, GA with her husband Peter and enjoys photography and cooking. She is from Wauwatosa, WI and attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
“We are so fortunate to have Emily on our team who has dedicated herself to the fight against blood cancers,” said Piper Medcalf, Executive Director of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Georgia Chapter. “Our chapter's Light The Night Walks will continue to thrive and grow under her leadership.”
The Georgia Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, headquartered in Atlanta, helps those diagnosed with blood cancers throughout the state with financial and emotional support. With campaigns such as Team In Training, Light The Night Walk, Man & Woman of the Year and Pennies for Patients, the organization raises more than $7 million each year to help fund its mission.
