Public Help Needed in Murder Case - Cumming Patch

Hall County Sheriff’s Investigators and Agents with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation are requesting the public’s assistance in the Hannah Truelove murder case, a press release stated.

Investigators are looking for a late 1990’s to early 2000’s four-door passenger car (possibly a Chevrolet or Dodge product) that may have been in the area of Lake Lanier Club Apartments during the evening hours of Thursday, Aug.23. The car is light silver in color, with substantial front-end damage and a driver’s door that is either white or a lighter shade of silver.

Investigators believe the occupants of the vehicle may have important information that will aid the investigation.

Anyone with information regarding this vehicle or with further information about the case is asked to call the Hall County CID tip line at 770-503-3232, or the GBI tip line at 800-597-8477.

A suspect in the Buckhead baby stroller robberies has been arrested, according to Atlanta Police.

Brandon Lawson was identified as a suspect after APD released images of a man and woman with a stroller who were wanted in two armed robberies in Buckhead over the Labor Day weekend.

Lawson was found and arrested in Macon based on tips from the public. Atlanta police say they expect him to be returned to Atlanta to face charges in the two robberies. In one instance, a victim told police he heard a crying baby in the carriage that the suspects had with them.

You've probably seen countless ads on telephone poles searching for the owners of found dogs or cats, but when was the last time you saw one for a macaw?

located the blue Macaw in a tree in the 500 block of Commerce Park Drive in Marietta at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday. The bird was taken by an Animal Control officer to the shelter.

Animal Control is looking for the owner of the macaw. If you have any information that can reunite this bird and its owner, please call (770) 499-4136.

Several parrot rescue groups have already enquired about the bird and are willing to take it in if the bird's owner does not come forward. If the owner is not found, Animal Control may have to stock up on bird seed; macaws can live up to 100 years.

- Norcross Patch

A in Norcross was allegedly robbed at gunpoint early one morning last week.

According to the Norcross police report, a waitress and cook were playing cards when a man walked into the 6079 Goshen Springs Road restaurant around 4:30 a.m. Aug. 29.

The waitress asked the man if he was going to eat something, and he said yes, but he first asked for change for $20.

As she got some change from the cash register, she looked up and saw him standing in front of her and pointing a gun.

He reached over her and started grabbing money from the register, and then immediately walked out toward Global Mall across the street.

The cook told the same story to police.

After police spoke with the witness and victim, a woman spoke with police stating that she saw the man run out, followed by the workers with their cell phones. She started to follow the man but lost track of him.

Police also observed video surveillance of the restaurant. Matching with the waitress' description, the man had a dark complexion and was wearing black clothing with a red hat.

Dunwoody Police reported an attempted burglary at a residence Thursday on Lakeside Drive near Windwood Hollow Park.

Police say the suspect was likely scared off by a burglar alarm that was set off when a side door was attempted to be pried open.

Police ask people to report even attempted burglaries like this one so that they can track suspicious activity in neighborhoods.
