UPDATE: 8-13-13, 4:34 p.m.

A convenience store located in north Forsyth County was burglarized early Tuesday morning, according to the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office.

The owner of the Country Cupboard (a Citgo gas station), which is located on Antioch Road and Pilgrim Mill Road near GA 400, made the discovery when he arrived for work.

"We believe through video surveillance that this burglary took place between 3 a.m. and 3:30," said Deputy Doug Rainwater, spokesperson of the FCSO.

Rainwater told Cumming Patch that the video shows a light colored Ford van circling the store. It also shows a man described as black with dread locks and wearing a t-shirt wrapped around his face to hide his nose and mouth standing behind the cash register.

The suspect and at least one other individual are believed to have gained entry into the store by smashing a hole in the brick wall located behind the store. Once inside, the power was cut, and several items were taken including, beer, cigarettes and cash.

"They took cash from the register and the ATM," said Rainwater. "They didn't remove the ATM, but they took cash from it."

Rainwater said the suspects knew what they were doing.

"You just don't show up for a burglary with a screwdriver and get into an ATM," he said.

The suspects also broke into a safe and took the cash that was stored inside.

The sheriff's office is currently examining other burglaries that have happened in in the county that are similar to this one as it is very specific and not like the usual smash and go burglaries. Many times those break-ins entail smashing out a window or door, not busting through a brick wall.

Rainwater said it's been a long time there has been a burglary as precise as the one that happened Tuesday morning in Forsyth County.

The sheriff's office will be issuing a BOLO (be on the look out) of a still picture of the suspect and van in hopes the public will have information of those involved in this crime.

Cumming Patch will post the BOLO as soon as it becomes available.

The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office say a convenience store in north Forsyth County was burglarized in the overnight hours.

Major Rick Doyle said somebody broke into the back of the Country Cupboard located on Antioch Road and Pilgrim Mill Road and stole beer and cigarettes.

He also said no employees or customers were in the store at the time of the incident.

This is not the first time the store has been burglarized. On April 28, 2011, the convenience store was one of two stores that were part of smash and go burglaries. In that incident deputies found one of the store doors had been smashed, and that the cash register had been ransacked. Three people were eventually arrested for those burglaries.

No further information has been released at this time, as this is an active investigation.
