Delays Expected On Highway 20 In Downtown Cumming

Routine maintenance work on Highway 20 beginning Tuesday, March 22, is expected to cause delays in and around downtown Cumming.

Delays are expected in downtown Cumming during routine maintenance work beginning Tuesday, March 22. Crews will remove damaged sections of Highway 20 and replace it with new asphalt extending from the downtown square to Highway 9 according to the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT).

The roadwork is scheduled to occur during weekdays from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

We hope to complete the work in five days if the weather cooperates. Please avoid the area if possible, delays are expected,” explained Georgia DOT District Engineer, Todd McDuffie in a statement. “A combination of flaggers and pilot vehicles will be used in the work zone to direct traffic through the area."
