Woodstock Man Charged in Hit-and-Run of Cherokee Crossing Guard - Woodstock-Towne Lake Patch
A Woodstock man has been arrested and charged in connection with a hit-and-run incident that sent a Cherokee Sheriff's Office crossing guard to the hospital.
Victor Baruchman, 20, was running late to his Cherokee County DUI/Drug Court graduation when he allegedly hit the crossing guard in front of Freedom Middle School, according to a press release from the Cherokee Sheriff's Office. .

The Cherokee Sheriff's Office has released the name of the crossing guard who was hit by a car outside Freedom Middle School Tuesday afternoon and was released from the hospital later that day.

A father and son vacationing out of state asked Oconee County Sheriff's deputies early Tuesday to check on their Briar Lakes Court home after friends told them someone had been seen inside of the house and driving their vehicles.
A man inside the house reportedly told deputies he had been given permission to drive the car and was returning the keys. Not so, said the victim, who claimed the two were "ex-friends." Steven Ross Brannon was charged with burglary and auto theft.
