More Rain Possible This Week, Sunny Skies by Memorial Day Weekend

This weekend's heavy rain will move out of Cumming and Forsyth, making way for mostly sunny skies by the weekend.

After yet another weekend filled with flood warnings and event cancellations throughout the metro area, Cumming is in for some sunny skies early this week and this Memorial Day weekend, though rain will be likely on Wednesday.

This weekend's flooding near the Etowah River forced the closure of several roads in Forsyth, including Sanders, Parks, Nicholson Road and Old Federal.

According to the National Weather Service, Big Creek remains above flood stage, affecting some yards in North Fulton and Forsyth counties. The creek was expected to fall below flood stage by early Tuesday. The Big Creek Greenway is closed due to flooding.
