National Weather Service Says Thunderstorms Bring Tornado Threat

Heavy rain, damaging winds, hail, lightning and isolated tornadoes are possible this evening.

Forsyth County is included in the hazardous weather outlook from the National Weather Service that says severe thunderstorms–and isolated tornadoes–are possible tonight.

A strong cold front moving through the Tennessee Valley into North Georgia late today will reach into central Georgia by tonight. The primary hazards from thunderstorms will be isolated tornadoes, damaging winds, large hail, frequent lightning and very heavy rain.

After possibly hitting northwest Georgia in the early evening, the severe thunderstorms are most likely to spread southeast across the rest of North Georgia through the evening and into the morning.
