Police ID Cyclist Killed on Bells Ferry

The bicyclist who was struck and killed by a vehicle this afternoon along Bells Ferry Road has been identified as 42-year-old Timothy Austin of Woodstock.

Around 4 p.m. today [Wednesday], Austin was riding southbound on the sidewalk of Bells Ferry Road when, for unknown reasons, he lost control of the bicycle and entered oncoming traffic, said Officer Mike Bowman, the spokesman for the Cobb County Police Department. Doctor Indicted on Child Molestation Charges
 — Sandy Springs Patch

A Fulton County Grand Jury has indicted a Sandy Springs doctor on charges that he molested a juvenile female during a sleepover at his residence.

Doctor Kelly Thrasher was indicted Tuesday on Child Molestation. The Fulton County Grand Jury added the charges of Sexual Battery and Aggravated Sexual Battery to the indictment. Thrasher was arrested on Jan. 24 after his release from the Ridgeview Medical Center where he entered himself after detectives initiated a criminal investigation into the molestation complaint. The Cherokee Sheriff's Office is investigating what caused a silver Dodge Charger to roll off a boat ramp and crash into Lake Allatoona late Monday afternoon.

Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services responded to a call just before 4:45 p.m. Monday regarding a car that had gone into the lake off Kellogg Creek Road in southwest Cherokee County. .


Man Killed by Train in Peachtree Corners Has Been Identified
 - Peachtree Corners Patch

The identity of the man who was struck and killed by a Norfolk Southern train Monday afternoon in Peachtree Corners has been released.

The victim was Devonn Graham, a 37-year-old man from Norcross, said Chief Investigator Ted Bailey with the Gwinnett County Medical Examiner's office.

The cause of death was "blunt force trauma," which was the result of being struck by the train, said Bailey. "His death has been ruled as accidental." See Peachtree Corners Patch for more on this story.
