Milton 13-Year-Old Busted After Using Mom's Credit Card
- Alpharetta-Milton Patch

A Milton 13-year-old juvenile allegedly used his mother's Kindle and her credit card to spend more than $3,000 on Amazon.com in a 30-minute period on Sept. 18. Milton police took him to a youth detention facility.

The juvenile said he left school early because he was sick. Once home, he copied his mother's credit card information after taking the card out of her purse. He then used her Kindle to make the following purchases:

  • Mac Book Pro ($2089),
  • Nike Airmax shoes ($121),
  • Samsung Galaxy S11 ($587),
  • GMC Topkick Mountain Bike ($251.99).

His mother, who brought him to the Milton police department, told police he had done this at least 10 times in the past two years – and had been placed on probation in April for one of those offenses. His probation required that he not touch any electronic devices. It also forbade him from harming any animals, as his mother said he had killed several family pets in the past few years. The juvenile allegedly stepped on the family dog's foot, kicked it and threw a shoe at it because it was trying to eat his kettle corn and was bothering him.

North Point Community Affiliated Church Sets Sights On Woodstock
- Woodstock Patch

A Canton church is mulling the possibility of building a permanent home in Woodstock.

Watermarke Church, which holds worship services at Cherokee Charter Academy on Sixes Road, is exploring the option of constructing a new facility on 32.5 acres in the Ridgewalk area.

The church is in negotiations to purchase the property.

The city last week submitted a Developments of Regional Impact application to the Georgia Department of Community Affairs on behalf of Alpharetta-based North Point Ministries, which is affiliated with Watermarke Church.

According to the application, the church would like to construct 250,000 square feet of buildings, which would include about 2,400 parking spaces. The church would be built in the same vicinity where the first phase of the Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta is underway.

Zuckerman will be on hand for today's groundbreaking, which will take place at the construction site adjacent to the Dr. Bobbie Bailey & Family Performance Center, 1000 Chastain Rd.
