Woman Gets 12 Years For Running Over Ex
- Douglasville Patch

A Hiram woman will serve 12 years in prison after news of a break-up drove her to run over an ex-boyfriend with a SUV, according to District Attorney David McDade.

Vanessa Marie Garrett-Rogers, 28, received a 30-year sentence from Chief Superior Court Judge Robert J. James after entering a guilty plea to charges of Aggravated Battery, Aggravated Assault and Leaving the Scene of an Accident on Monday. Visit Douglasville Patch for more on this story.

Armed Serial Robber Robs Bank Inside Snellville Publix
- Snellville Patch

Law enforcement authorities in Snellville and DeKalb County, as well as the FBI, are asking for the public's help in identifying and apprehending the suspect responsible for four armed bank robberies that occurred within the last five weeks in Lithonia and Snellville.

At 11:15 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 3, a black male entered a branch of SunTrust Bank inside the Publix at 1905 Scenic Highway, Snellville, and announced he was robbing the bank. He displayed a weapon and obtained an undisclosed amount of money, according to the FBI. He fled the scene at a high speed in an off-white Lincoln sedan with tinted windows.

Aaron's Founder R. Charles Loudermilk Sued by Federal Regulators
- Buckhead Patch 

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. sued R. Charles Loudermilk, founder of Aaron's furniture rental company, because of $21.8 million of bad real estate loans made by the failed Buckhead Community Bank, according to Businessweek.

Loudermilk, known by many as Mr. Buckhead, helped found Buckhead Community Bank in 1998 and was its former chairman. , becoming chairman emeritus. Visit Buckhead Patch for more on this story.
