Recycle Your Old Electronics This Weekend

Celebrate Earth Day early by bringing your old electronics to a recycling event this Saturday at the Cumming Fairgrounds.

Earth Day isn't until April 22, but now is the time to dust off those old computers, stereos, CD players, cell phones, microwaves, and bring the items to the Keep Forsyth County Beautiful “Recycle Your Old Electronics” event this Saturday, April 16.

Recycling of old electronics will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the City of Cumming Fairgrounds, parking lot 3, off of Castleberry Road.

“Local residents are invited to help celebrate Earth Day by recycling their electronics for which they no longer have a use,” said Environmental Program Manager Tammy Wright in a statement.

The minimum donation per carload for drop-off is $5 while an additional $10 fee will apply for all televisions.

“Taking the time to recycle these items can truly make a difference toward ensuring a clean environment for our entire community,” said Wright.
