Early Morning Smash & Grab at Foot Locker on Metropolitan Pkwy

Early morning thieves targeted the Foot Locker located in the 2600 block of Metropolitan Parkway on Monday morning for a "smash & grab" using a stolen Dodge to break their way into the store and steal as much as possible.

The crash into the front glass of the store occurred at approximately 3 a.m., Monday morning. According to a report in the AJC, more than a dozen criminals ran into the store after the vehicle broke open an entrance way. .

Fire Breaks out at Split-Level Home in Norcross Area

A house in the Norcross area was heavily damaged in a fire Sunday, according to authorities. No one was reported injured.

According to Gwinnett County Fire's spokesperson Capt. Tommy Rutledge, firefighters were dispatched around 10 p.m. to a split-level home off the 5800 block of Dana Drive, between Williams Road and Rockbridge Road in unincorporated Norcross. Flames were coming from the right side of the residence. .


Early Morning Fire Near Canton Injures Two
 - Canton-Sixes Patch

A man and woman suffered second degree burns in an early Saturday morning fire near Canton.

Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services personnel were dispatched to a fire at 11258 Bells Ferry Road just south of Butterworth Road near Canton shortly after 2:15 a.m. 

Fire fighters arrived on the scene and discovered heavy flames coming from the one-story home. The two occupants inside were awaken by a smoke alarm, but suffered injuries from the blaze.

Authorities say a Woodstock man ran a road block Saturday night in Bartow County, leading officers on chase that ended in a Cobb crash.

Georgia State Patrol spokesman Gordy Wright said Winston Keith Wiggins, 45, was arrested after he allegedly failed to stop at Old Alabama and Bates roads near Emerson where troopers and Bartow County Sheriff's Office deputies were conducting a license check. .
