Advance Voting for House District Special Election Saturday, Monday

The special election to fill the Georgia House District 22 seat affects about 11,000 Forsyth voters who live in the southwestern portion of the county.

Four candidates—Meagan Biello, Nate Cochran, Jeff Duncan and Sam Moore—are vying for the post to be decided in the Jan. 7 Special Election to fill the vacancy in Georgia House District 22.

In Forsyth County, Georgia House District 22 encompasses the entire Brandywine precinct, portions of the Polo precinct, portions of the Midway precinct, and all of the former Vickery precinct. All of the former Vickery precinct voters have been reallocated to either the Polo or Midway precinct.  Only those voters who reside in Georgia House District 22 are eligible to vote in this election. 

Voting Available Saturday, Dec. 28
Advance Voting for the Jan. 7 Special Election to fill the vacancy in Georgia House District 22 will be available Saturday, Dec. 28, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., to all Forsyth County registered voters residing in Georgia House District 22 at the Forsyth County Administration Building, located at 110 E. Main Street in Cumming, and Midway Park Community Building, located at 5100 Post Road in Cumming. 

Two Locations for Advance Voting, Beginning Dec. 30
Advance Voting for the Jan. 7 Special Election to fill the vacancy in Georgia House District 22 will be available at two locations beginning Monday, Dec. 30, and will continue through Friday, Jan. 3. Please note, advance Voting locations will be closed Wednesday, Jan. 1, in observance of New Year’s Day.

  • Monday, Dec. 30, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.   
  • Tuesday, Dec. 31, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. 
  • Closed Wednesday, Jan. 1 
  • Thursday, Jan. 2, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. 
  • Friday, Jan. 3, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. 
West Forsyth Area 
Midway Park     
5100 Post Road, Cumming, GA 30040 
Voting Hours: 
  • Monday, Dec. 30, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. 
  • Tuesday, Dec. 31, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. 
  • Closed Wednesday, Jan. 1 
  • Thursday, Jan. 2, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. 
  • Friday, Jan. 3, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  
Forsyth County registered voters who reside in Georgia House District 22 may take advantage of Advance Voting at either of the Advance Voting locations. 

For all in-person voting, voters should remember to bring one of the six acceptable forms of photo identification. For details and to view your Sample Ballot, visit the Voter and Registrations and Elections Department page of the Forsyth County Web site at www.forsythco.com.   

Remember, there is no voting of any kind on Monday, Jan. 6. If you are unable to take advantage of Advance Voting you will need to go to your designated polling location on Tuesday, Jan. 7.
Polls will be open on Jan. 7, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.  
NOTE: Due to changes in precinct boundary lines and polling locations in December 2013 it is highly possible your voting precinct and/or polling location may have changed. Please verify your Election Day precinct at www.forsythco.com prior to heading out to vote.
