Sons of Confederate Veterans January Meeting

Attorney Phill Bettis will be speaking on the “P. Bettis” rifle, which was patented in 1850 by Philip Bettis of Cummings, Georgia. He is listed as a gunsmith in Forsyth County in the 1860 census, and in Vickery Creek in the 1880 Census.  Our speaker, local attorney Phill Bettis, is a direct descendant of this antebellum gunsmith and he has carefully built an outstanding collection of original Bettis Rifles.

The Sons of Confederate Veterans meets on the 4th Monday of each month at 7:00 PM in the Bell Research Center.  The public is welcome.
