Sons of Confederate Veterans January Meeting

The public is invited to hear historian Brad Quinlin discuss Dr. Samuel Stout and Confederate
Hospitals of
the Army of Tennessee

Dr. Samuel H. Stout of Tennessee was the Medical Director of

Hospitals for the Army of Tennessee. Stout was in charge of coordinating the

acquisition of medical supplies and materials, the management of doctors and
other medical personnel, and the near constant relocation of 60 hospitals in
Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi.  Dr.
Stout’s innovative ideas and management practices saved thousands of
lives.  Stout’s 3,500 pounds of war documents
are now with the Georgia Historical Society.
Samuel Stout never forgot his Confederate comrades and they never forgot
him.
