Accepted items include computers, stereos, cell phones and more.

Patch Staff Report

Forsyth County residents will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the environment by recycling their old, unused electronics during the upcoming electronics recycling event hosted by Keep Forsyth County Beautiful (KFCB).

The event will be held on Saturday, May 3, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Cumming Fairgrounds’ parking lot 3 off of Castleberry Road.

Accepted items for recycling include laptops, stereos, CD players, cell phones,
microwaves, cameras and more. The minimum donation per carload drop-off is $5 while an additional $20 fee will apply for each television.

“There is always a great turnout for our electronics recycling events,” Environmental Program Manager Tammy Wright said. “By taking the time to recycle their unused electronics, residents can make a positive impact on the environment while removing clutter from their homes."

Some items, such as large wooden console televisions, projector televisions, toaster ovens and refrigerators, will not be accepted during the event. For a complete list of acceptable and non-acceptable items, visit www.forsythco.com or call KFCB at 770-205-4573.
