Riverwatch MS Student Praised for Community Service Program
Forsyth County Board of Commissioners recently recognized Remington Youngblood for helping provide students with opportunities to thank soldiers and veterans for their service.

At their April 17 meeting, the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners recognized Remington Youngblood for his work in founding Change 4 Georgia, a community service program that provides students with opportunities to thank soldiers and veterans for their service.
Youngblood, a seventh grade student at Riverwatch Middle School, created Change 4 Georgia with the objective of allowing students to get involved in their community, demonstrate loyalty to their country and actively assist the military.

In his message at the Change 4 Georgia site, Youngblood writes:
Our soldiers and veterans not only deserve, but need our attention and appreciation for their choice of dedication, service and sacrifice to our great country. Now is the time to stand up and answer the call.I made the choice to reach out and make a difference. What started as my personal project of compassion and appreciation has now evolved into a community effort to aid our troops and veterans.
We have a mission to accomplish – to add comfort and show support of our troops deployed overseas and their families. I encourage you to get the word out. If you are a school, church or business, please set up a donation box. If you are a student, go home and tell your mom or dad you made a choice to help by volunteering or donating an item of comfort from the troops’ “Wish List.” Each of us really can make a difference. Remember, a soldier’s life is not without sacrifice. Freedom is not free.
When you have donations ready, contact Change 4 Georgia and we will arrange to have the items picked up. The items will be taken to the Ladies Auxiliary, who made a choice to package and ship them to our Troops. It is that easy!
