CURB APPEAL: SPRING FOR SOME SPRING FLOWERS!

With Spring just around the corner, the time has never been better to give those dormant flower beds a little bit of love, especially if you’re planning on putting your home on the market.

I’ve already written about the importance of curb appeal, but it’s a topic that’s significant enough to warrant a second look.  When it comes to your yard’s vegetation, ask yourself whether you prefer to look at flower beds which are full of weeds and overgrown, or ones which are bursting with gorgeous flowers.

In short, when buyers decide to make an offer on your home, remember that they are often investing in a certain lifestyle just as much as the house itself.  Therefore, since leading with a charming yard can make a great deal of difference, use flowers which will give you the most bang for your buck.

1.) Geraniums—Since these colorful, fragrantly-scented flowers bloom all summer long, they’re perfect some creative gardening.

2.) Knock-Out Roses—It’s no secret that people love roses; however, the traditional version only blooms for a few weeks.  Instead, plant knock-out roses for a longer color period.

3.) Violets—Since these purple ladies grow low to the ground, they create a lovely border for any garden.

4.) Zinnias—With the abundance of heat and sunshine we receive each summer, these sun-lovers will bask in the high temperatures instead of dying off.

5.) Marigolds—If you’re worried about your lack of a green thumb, look no further than these hardy bloomers.  Strong and resilient, these flowers love full sun and make it difficult for even the most inexperienced gardeners to kill them!

To round things out, don’t be afraid to play with a little greenery, such as shade-loving hostas and ornamental grasses.  A beautiful, full garden doesn’t have to be difficult to create, so get moving and create something show-worthy!
