The Wonder Project is hosting the first-annual Christmas in the Village on Dec. 14, 2013, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Vickery Village on Post Road in Cumming.

The Wonder Project, a creativity center in Vickery Village, aims to inspire creative confidence, celebrate the extra in the ordinary, encourage grace by sharing gratitude, and develop wonderful friendships.

The Wonder Project’s vision was to create an event the entire at which the community could enjoy holiday cheer with neighbors and friends, according to the press release.

It will kick off with a performance by the Vickery Creek Elementary School’s fifth-grade choir. Also on tap are a Christmas market, gingerbread workshop, eggnog and cocoa by the fire, amazing performances from local talent brought by Performer’s Warehouse, a visit from Santa and much more holiday fun for all ages.

The culmination of the event will be the lighting of the tree and a performance from a special guest.

It also will be helping our community by donating 10 trees with ornaments and 100 percent of funds from Christmas Craft will go towards holiday meals for those in need. Guests also are asked to bring a new unwrapped toy for the toy drive.

Vickery Village features restaurants, shops and other services. Guests of the event will not only be surrounded by merriment and holiday cheer but also able to visit the stores for last minute shopping. The restaurants also will be enticing people to stay after the event with dinner specials.
