Prussian Diamond Tiara

Happy Tiara Tuesday!  This week we bring you a dazzling tiara from Princess Viktoria of Prussia, called the Prussian Diamond Tiara.  It was a present she received on her wedding day from her father, Kaiser Wilhelm II in 1913.

It became a tradition to pass this tiara down on the wedding day for the daughters in the family lineage.  Viktoria bequeathed the the tiara to her only daughter, Princess Frederike, who married in 1938 to King Paul I of Greece.  This seems especially suiting with the very Greek laurel and key motifs on this tiara!  Frederike then left the tiara to her daughter, Princess Sophia of Greece when she married Prince Juan Carlos of Spain in 1962.  Queen Sofia lent it to her daughter-in-law for her wedding day in 2004, and hopefully we’ll see it in the next daughter’s wedding too!

This tiara has such a classical look to it because of its timeless Greek motifs, including the laurel branches, columns, and Greek key!  It’s wonderful to see a design that really passes the test of time as this tiara does.  It is so gorgeous and works perfectly as a wedding tiara!

The gorgeous Prussian Diamond Tiara also features the central pear-shaped diamond set en tremblant, which means “so it moves” and it shimmers and dances as the tiara is worn, much like our new Rhythm of Love jewelry line!

As always, thank you for reading and happy Tiara Tuesday!
