Kitten Hit by Car Needs Loving Home

Andrew the kitten, hit by an oncoming car, was left to die by the side of the road. He was scared, alone and helpless. But Andrew's story, though, didn't end there. His story is one of triumph over tragedy.

After the accident, he somehow found the strength to move away from the busy street. He reached Pike's Nursery on Bethelview Road in Cumming. Nursery employees spotted him, hobbling around, dragging his broken leg. For weeks they tried to catch or trap him but he managed to elude capture. Then, finally, there came a day when, perhaps because of his exhaustion, he allowed himself to be caught. This was the day his luck would begin to change, for the better. The Humane Society was contacted and the kitten was rushed to Dr. Bill Avra of Forsyth Animal Hospital.

According to Dr. Avra, it was a bad break. It would be a long and painful recovery if he were to keep the leg; Dr. Avra recommended an amputation. Today, thanks to the expert, loving care he received, Andrew is not merely surviving- he is thriving!

The sweet kitten is now in a wonderful foster home where, according to his foster, his favorite hobby is snuggling in bed. Having three legs has not slowed him down at all: he is as active and playful as any kitten his age, goes up and down the stairs with ease, jumps up on beds and sleeps under the covers. He is an affectionate boy who, now that he has been given a second chance, waits for his forever home. He would be the perfect lap cat, but he's also great with kids, dogs and other cats. He longs for a family he can call his own, and loving arms to hold him for the rest of his days, to make him feel special. Like he's the luckiest cat in the world.

Call the shelter at 770-887-6480 and tell them you'd like to meet little Andrew.
