Sawnee Free Co-op Card adds 'Healthy Savings Package'

announced recently the addition of a new healthy savings package that members can take advantage of with a card provided to them through the "Co-op Connections Program."

Sawnee customers received the free "Co-op Connections Card" as an insert in their February 2012 billing statement. The card offers a variety of discounts at local and national merchants, and has already saved cardholders more than $15,500 on prescriptions alone, according to a company news release.

With the addition of the healthy savings package, members are offered significant savings on lab and imaging services, chiropractic, dental, vision and hearing care.

"The health savings package will help our members stretch their paychecks and underscore that Sawnee EMC is always looking to provide additional benefit to being a cooperative member,” said Blake House, vice president of Member Services.

Other savings with the program include, 10 to 60 percent off eyeglasses, contact lenses and eye exams; 20 to 40 percent discounts on a range of dental care services; and 30 percent off chiropractic treatments.

“Many insurance plans do not include provisions for dental, hearing and vision care. With the new healthy savings package, members get no-cost access to five discounted health benefit areas: vision, dental, hearing, lab imaging and chiropractic care," said House.
