Community Yard Sale for a Cause

Still have some Christmas shopping to do? You can find some great deals at the Community Yard Sale this Friday and Saturday. And you'll be helping the homeless in the process!

The countdown has begun -- December 25th is only a few weeks away. Christmas is truly a time for giving. Remember the story of the first Christmas? God sent His son, Jesus, to be born of a virgin. The book of Luke records this miraculous event: "And she (Mary) brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn," (Luke 2:7; KJV; word in italics added).  God gave the ultimate gift -- and gift giving continues to be a tradition wherever Christmas is celebrated.

This Christmas season, Vision Baptist Church is purchasing sleeping bags to be given as gifts to the homeless in Atlanta. Church members and missionaries, Scott and Melissa Newton are holding a community yard sale on Friday, November 30th  - Saturday, December 1st. All of the proceeds are being donated for this cause.

Interested in getting involved? Stop by and shop at the yard sale! Tell your friends! Let this Christmas be the beginning of a new tradition: giving something to those who have very little during the holiday season. You'll discover the truth of Jesus' words, "It is more blessed to give than to receive," (Acts 20:35).
