When it comes to my favorite times of the year, Christmas definitely sits at the top of the list. Now, I know you might be wondering why I’m bringing up such a blustery, chilly holiday when it’s presently sitting in the mid-80’s, but after spending two days shopping, tasting, measuring, comparing, and designing at “The Mart” in Atlanta, I cannot help but feel like we’ve simply entered Christmas in July!
As previously stated in a recent blog, we take pride designing new and interesting baskets each year and “The Mart,”—or rather, The Americas Mart in midtown—is a sort of gathering of wholesale vendors who lay out their newest creations for local businesses. Although it may seem a little early for Christmas fare, most vendors are already ramping up their production in preparation for the holidays, so snowmen and Santa are on the daily agenda!
While many of our baskets remain staples and customer favorites, we’re still on the lookout for tasty treats that our patrons will enjoy. We love getting the opportunity to help our customers experience interesting tastes and flavors through our designs, so we spent two days sampling an assortment of scrumptious chocolates, toffee, crackers, jellies, olives, hot cocoa, cider, beef jerky, cookies, and candy. Truly, it was a challenging and difficult job…. but someone had to do it….
