Bride Killed In Crash To Be Buried Friday

A newlywed who died Sunday evening in single-vehicle accident will be laid to rest on Friday.

Kali Shay Quinton was employed as an orthodontic assistant at Hiser Orthodontics in Cumming.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. James Thompson, Rev. Grant Wade and Rev. Alan Caylor officiating the service. Quinton will be buried at Long Swamp Baptist Church cemetery in Jasper following the funeral service. The family will continue to receive friends today at Roper Funeral Home in Jasper. 

Quinton, 25, was born on July 20, 1988, in Marietta, and graduated in 2006 from Pickens County High School. 

Survivors include husband Ryan Quinton of Jasper; parents Linda and Danny “Doodle” Jordan of Ball Ground; Jim and Liz Dobson of Jasper; grandmother Genita Taylor of Jasper; sisters and brothers-in-law Kelly and Tony Weaver of Jasper; Katie and Jody Poole of Jasper; step-brother and sisters-in-law Michael and Melissa Jordan of Ball Ground; and Danny Jordan of Canton; nieces and nephews Andy and Mykenzie Weaver of Jasper; Jordan, Logan and Megan Poole, all of Jasper; step-nieces and nephews Haley, Tiffany and Jacob Jordan of Ball Ground; mother-in-law and father-in-law Diane and Gary Quinton of Jasper; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Jodie and Tiffany Quinton of Clearwater, Florida; Kayle Quinton of Jasper; aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends also survive. 

The family requests donations be made to the Burnt Mountain Center in Jasper. 

The Quintons were leaving The Wheeler House where they'd just celebrated their wedding when the husband told authorities he tried to avoid hitting a dog in the roadway when he lost control of the vehicle, according to the Georgia State Patrol. 

The car traveled off the road, overturned and ejected Kali Quinton before it came to rest with the woman trapped under the vehicle.

She died at the scene of the accident while Quinton was transported to Northside Hospital-Cherokee to be treated for his injuries.
