Funeral Set for Army Vet Found in Car Down Embankment

South Forsyth High School graduate Andrew Ackerman was last seen leaving a Buckhead bar and found deceased two days later.

A service for the Cumming native, U.S. Army veteran and South Forsyth High School graduate found deceased in his car down an embankment has been set for Thursday, Oct. 3, at 10 a.m. at St. Columba’s Episcopal Church, 939 James Burgess Road in Suwanee, according to the obituary.

Authorities say Randal Andrew Ackerman Jr., 31, was last seen leaving a Buckhead bar the night of Sept. 24. His car, a Ford Focus, and body were discovered at Johnson Ferry Road and Mill Creek two days later, Sept. 24, about 6 p.m.  

Ackerman, who lived in Sandy Springs, had been to a Braves game, friends told 11Alive.

He died the last night he was seen by friends leaving hangovers bar.
