In Memoriam: Betty Jean Boyle, 78

Betty Jean accompanied and supported Jim throughout his 30 year military career.

Betty Jean Boyle, 78, of Cumming, passed away on Sept. 4, 2013. Born in Charlotte, NC she is the daughter of the late Orlando and Frances Hudson.

She is survived by her loving husband, James Boyle of Cumming; son, Michael Boyle and his fiancé Alla Tsipenyuk; son Kenneth and wife Marian Boyle of Urbandale, IA; brother, Orlando DeLorme Hudson and wife Beth of Redstone, CO; nephews Blair, Blake and Blaine Hudson and beloved grandchildren, James, Berit, Camilla, Robert, Ryan, and Carson Boyle, and sisters-in-law Norma Boyle Childers and Donna Hudson.

Betty Jean and Jim grew up in Florence, SC, met in high school, attended Furman University and married on Dec. 26, 1955. Betty Jean accompanied and supported Jim throughout his 30 year military career. She proved to be the perfect military wife. When he was given new assignments, she managed each move with cheerfulness and aplomb. She handled every detail. Wherever stationed, she provided a supportive, loving home for her family.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 8 in the McDonald & Son Funeral Home Chapel in Cumming. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Sarasota Memorial Park in Sarasota, FL.
