Obituary: Randal Andrew Ackerman Jr. Dies at 31

Visitation and a service are set for Wednesday and Thursday.

Randal Andrew Ackerman Jr., “Andrew”, 31, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013. Andrew was born in Cumming, GA, on Jan. 25, 1982. He attended South Forsyth High School, and then joined the United States Army. He was a helicopter power plant technician. He served two tours of duty in Iraq and one in Afghanistan. He served his country for 10 years, and received an honorable discharge Jan. 25, 2013.

Andrew is the son of his loving father, the late Randal Andrew Ackerman. He is survived by his mother, Molly L. Ackerman, his sister, Anne Ackerman Partamian, his brother-in-law James Partamian, his niece Penelope Partamian, and his nephew, Jack Partamian, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Andrew resided in Sandy Springs, and worked in Atlanta.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013, at 10 a.m. at St. Columba’s Episcopal Church, 939 James Burgess Road, Suwanee, GA 30024, with The Reverend Father Tripp Norris as celebrant. Interment will follow at 1 p.m. at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Ingram Funeral Home at 210 Ingram Avenue in Cumming.
