Thanksgiving Family Fun
Make sure this Thanksgiving is not a bore by including some fun games and activities!
Thanksgiving is here! Though it is not only about the food, but it's about giving thanks, visiting family and much, much laughter and fun! In order to have that much needed fun some sort of games and activities need to be in place to ensure that this year's Thanksgiving will not be a complete bore. Boredom leads to early departures, which, for some, might be a good thing. But if you enjoy having your family in one place at the same time and want this year to be fun then by all means setup an atmosphere of fun! Listed below are a few activities that can help make this Thanksgiving memorable!
#1 Game On: By all means make sure the football game is on and accessible for all to see. The biggest complaint which can arise among the men of the family is that they missed the game. Go ahead and have the remote ready and a few snacks sitting by to keep them content while dinner is being prepared. Or if the family is a little more active than most, have a real football ready for some outdoor fun.
#2 Bubbles, Bouncers and X-Box: Nothing is more annoying than a whining child. In order to minimize their boredom, which can lead to whining, bring along some bubbles for the toddlers and possibly rent a bouncy house for the backyard. For the older children, make sure someone brings either an X-box w/Kinect or a Wii.

#3 Cards and Board Games: Last but not least, every family needs a pack of cards. A game of Spades, Blackjack, War or even Go-Fish can greatly keep family members, young and old, occupied. Additionally a few fun board games can easily entertain the busiest of bunch.
#4 Family Skit: Have all the cousins put together a skit and have them perform it right after dinner. As a child my cousins and I would always put together some random skit and would deliver it to some music. Skits bring out the best in everyone and lots of laughter.

#5 Movie Night: Instead of having everyone disperse to their own home, pick a movie to go see after dinner. This can become a family tradition and is something all the adults can do together.
Regardless as to whether you are the host or not, make sure someone has planned the family fun activities for the day. Having these simple items available are sure to influence an enjoyable Thanksgiving!
