Argument Leads to Stabbing, Arrest in Cumming

A 27-year-old man has been charged with aggravated assault and two counts of cruelty to children.

One man is in custody after allegedly stabbing another man during a dispute at a north Forsyth County home, authorities said.

Deputies with the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office responded to reports of an argument at 7610 Bannister Road in Cumming on Tuesday around 6 p.m. When deputies got to the home they found Cal Blackstone, 31, holding a cloth to his side where he had been stabbed, but the suspect was nowhere to be found. Two women who were also at the residence with Blackstone provided deputies with a description, direction of travel and identity of the suspect, a news release stated.

Within 30 minutes, deputies had located and arrested Robert James Lord, 27, also a resident of the Bannister Road address. According to witnesses, an argument had taken place between Blackstone and Lord in the yard apparently over one of the women who lived at the residence resulting in the stabbing.
