Beware Of Man Impersonating a Police Officer

SOUTH FORSYTH HIGH SCHOOL PAINTED WITH GRAFFITI

March 6, dispatch received a call from l with a report of Tagging. Upon arrival officers found that several doors on the east hall and west hall had been spray-painted with graffiti.

The entrance sign on Peachtree Parkway had also been painted. Officers checked all of the dumpsters and trashcans for evidence but none was found. An investigation is underway.

TIME TO CUT GRASS LEADS TO MISSING LAWNMOWER

March 6, an officer was called to a residence on Pine Lake Drive inside Greenwood Acres subdivision, in reference to a stolen lawnmower.

The homeowner stated that her Craftsman 16 HP 42” riding lawn mower model 917274350, was parked on the backside of her home near the basement and it had apparently been stolen. Any information please forward to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.

TOW DOLLY STOLEN WHILE PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY

March 6, a Stehl ST80TD blue tow dolly with serial number 5JGBH111X9E037184 was stolen while hooked up to the back of the resident's Ford F150 truck that was parked in his driveway on Cambridge Hills Drive. 

The resident stated that somewhere between 2 a.m. and 9 a.m. the theft had taken place. He also stated that it must have been more than one individual due to the size of the tow dolly and where it was parked.   

VEHICLE REAR ENDED IN CAPTAIN D’S DRIVE-THRU

March 6, an officer responded to a vehicle accident at on Atlanta Road. Upon arrival the officer questioned the drivers, a 53-year-old male and a 45-year-old female.

The female reported to police that the male had rear-ended her car while they were in the drive-thru. The female also stated that the male backed into her car and then while moving his vehicle ran up and over the curb almost hitting a tree. Further investigation led to determining that the male was under the influence of drugs and was then arrested.

DRIVER WAIVES TO POLICE AS HE PROCEEDS DOWN CLOSED SECTION OF ROADWAY RESULTING IN DUI

March 5, officers had blocked off parts of Kelly Mill Road in support of a road race and were directing traffic to insure safety during this event. A 53-year-old male approached the traffic stop and then while waving to the officer, he fled, almost striking the officer. The officer yelled, “stop," but the man continued to drive through the coned off area an onto the road race traffic.

Several women and children were running on the closed section of the roadway at the time and had no idea there was a vehicle behind them. Officers finally made him stop at Kelly Mill and Drew Court where they found an open container of Busch beer, partially consumed, along with a 12-pack of beer with seven unopened cans.  The male was arrested and charged with several traffic violations including DUI and Open Container.  

HIGH GAS PRICES MIGHT HAVE LEAD TO GAS THEFT

March 5, approximately $34 in gas was siphoned from Toyota Tundra while parked in the driveway on Johnathan Lane. The homeowners reported they had received a call from a neighbor who witnessed at least four suspects stealing gas from their vehicle and then called 911.

Eyewitnesses reported that the individuals were wearing hoodies and that they fled possibly in Chevy S10 pickup trucks. This was the second time said homeowners had gas stolen. The first incident happened about two weeks ago, where suspects stole approximately $85 in gas.

INTERNET SCAM FOR FITNESS EQUIPMENT

March 3, a man came into the to file a complaint. Said man had ordered a $700 piece of fitness equipment from a Web site called homefitnessmart.com, advertised on Craig’s List.

He said he was requested to use the Green Dot payment option when making his on-line payment. The man stated that he was unsure that the transaction had gone through correctly so he contacted the Web site by e-mail.  After several days of no response he dug further to find out who had established the Web site.

He contacted, what he thought was, the owner of the Web site by phone, but this man had no knowledge of the Web site or any information about the site. At this point it was determined that the Cumming man’s name was fraudulently used and that this was an Internet scam. An investigation is underway.

BEWARE OF MALE IMPERSONATING AN OFFICER

March 3, a female called the to report that a suspicious white male driving a black Chevrolet Impala with dark tinted windows, a loud muffler and altered taillights, had flashed a police badge and asked her if she had seen a black female in the Evans Farm Subdivision.

Said male was dressed in street clothes; a golf shirt and khaki pants. The female stated this was very suspicious and thought it should be reported. Any information concerning this individual please notify and/or forward to the .

PEEPING TOM

March 1, a neighbor at Twelve Oaks Drive called police in reference to a Peeping Tom. The witness stated that his dog was barking at something in the woods. He shined his flashlight into the woods and noticed a male dressed in blue jeans and a hoodie was behind his neighbor’s residence peeping into the windows and doors.  The male had fled the scene before police arrived.

FIRE

Fire incidents were down from the previous week. Of these calls, there were four structure fires, three brush fires, one dumpster fire, two equipment fires, one gas leak, seven down power lines (due to the weather that came in last Monday evening), four unauthorized burning calls, seven false alarms and 120 medical emergencies. 

Some of the medical emergency calls consisted of seven motor vehicle accidents, five of which had reported injuries and one pedestrian hit by a vehicle. Captain Shivers of the reported that the pedestrian stepped out in front of a car that was making a right turn at the intersection of Post Road and Kelly Mill near the .  The male was not injured.
