Boat Explosion Injures 3 at Lake Lanier
The incident happened Sunday near Buford Dam Park.
One adult and two children were injured Sunday at Lake Lanier when an explosion on a boat required fire crews from nearby Gwinnett to respond.
According to a news release, the incident happened just before 2 p.m. near Buford Dam Park. A caller to 911 reported that there was an explosion on an older wooden boat, and that the occupants got off the boat. Firefighters found the boat occupants, who were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The boat was to be towed to shore for investigation by authorities as to a cause of the explosion. No other injuries were reported.
