Cumming Woman Accused of Embezzling $120K

A Cumming woman has been charged with embezzling more than $120,000 from her former employer, WSB-TV reports.

Malisa Dean Vasquez, 34, was Atlanta Motor World's longtime bookkeeper and allegedly had been "overpaying herself" since 2009, according to the station. The alleged theft came to light when she went on medical leave.

Vasquez allegedly admitted to thefts from the Roswell motorcycle dealer and promised to repay the money. When she failed to do so, the family-owned business turned her into police, WSB-TV reports.

She was arrested Dec. 12 by the Roswell Police Department and faces a felony theft by taking charge. Fulton County Jail records show Vasquez was released Dec. 14 on a $25,000 bond.
