Deputy Sheriff William McConnell Jr. Does it Again

Deputy McConnell named Deputy of the Month for August, his second consecutive month.

For the second consecutive month Deputy Sheriff William McConnell Jr. has been named "Deputy of the Month" for August at the North Precinct of the . 

According to Capt. Mark Flowers, commander of the North Precinct, Deputy McConnell was chosen again because of an incident that occurred on Aug. 25.

It was on that day that Deputy McConnell was following up on a lead  concerning at least two burglaries. During the investigation, McConnell recognized two men caught on video surveillance taken at a local business. Following an interview with the manager of the business the deputy had a better description of the suspects.

Shortly thereafter, the deputy thoroughly searched the area of the business and noticed two men riding bicycles along Canton Highway. The two suspects were identified as the same men captured on the video and arrested for the suspected burglaries.

“This is a fine example of good police work,” said Capt. Flowers. “I am proud to have Deputy Sheriff McConnell on our team. He sets an excellent example for other deputies to follow.”

Deputy Sheriff McConnell has been with the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office since October 2010 and is assigned to “B” Watch at the North Precinct.
