Deputy With Sheriff's Office Helps Catch Burglars

Deputy Sheriff Lora Hoek earns Deputy of the Month for January for helping to catch the bad guys.

The North Precinct of the names Deputy Sheriff Lora Hoek it's Deputy of the Month for January.

She earns the title due to her response to a burglary-in-progress call on January 24, according to Capt. Mark Flowers, North Precinct Commander.

While Deputy Hoek was on her way to investigate the incident, she noticed two men walking in the area that matched the description of the suspects that allegedly had committed the burglary. She approached the suspects and was abled to gather information that eventually led their arrest.

“Her attention to detail and willingness to engage suspicious persons makes the community we serve a safer place to live and work,” said Capt. Flowers.

Deputy Hoek has been with the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office since August 2007. She is currently assigned to “D” Watch, North Precinct, Uniform Patrol Division.
