Deputy With Sheriff's Office Nabs The Bad Guys

Deputy First Class Ryan Yeaton earns April Deputy of the Month for nabbing criminals.

The North Precinct of the names Deputy First Class Ryan Yeaton it's April Deputy of the Month.

He earned the title due to his response to an alarm call on April 26 at Daniel's Grocery and Bait Store, at 2355 Pilgrim Mill Road (see story), according to Capt. Mark Flowers, North Precinct Commander.

While Deputy First Class Yeaton was headed to the alarm call, he noticed a tan four-door sedan leaving the area. Yeaton contacted authorities at Communications and gave them the vehicle description and the direction the car was traveling in.

Communications immediately issued a BOLO (Be on the look out) on the vehicle. A unit with the South Precinct spotted the vehicle and made a traffic stop. After further investigation, the suspects in the vehicle were arrested and charged with burglarizing the store, as well as another convenience store on the corner of Antioch and Pilgrim Mill Road. Additionally, the suspects have been linked to burglaries in two other counties.

"The contributions DFC Yeaton has made to the North Precinct have been invaluable,” said Capt. Flowers. “He is an inspiration to his peers as well as his supervisors.”

DFC Yeaton has been with the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office since April 2006. He was also selected as the North Precinct's Deputy of the Year for 2010.
