Duo Steals 40 Car Batteries from Recycle Shed at Cumming Walmart

Surveillance footage captured the two and a red Chrysler Town and Country minivan used in the theft.

At least two people were involved in the theft of about 40 recyclable batteries Monday from the Cumming Walmart on Market Place Boulevard.

A loss prevention officer notified the Cumming Police Department of the theft, which happened between 2:48 a.m. and 3:06 a.m. and was captured on video surveillance, according to the incident report.

The tape shows "an unidentified person walking from the parking area adjacent the automotive area to the battery shed twice, then a red in color Chrysler Town and Country minivan backs up to the parking area," the report says.

Two people got out of the van and began unloading the batteries, then got back in the van and the van pulled away.
