Update: Forsyth Delays Closing Fire Station for Repairs

Fire Station 5 was set to close temporarily on Friday for repairs, but the county has halted those plans.

UPDATE Thursday @ 12:44 p.m.:

Jodi Gardner, director of communications for the Forsyth County government, said Fire Station 5 will not close on Friday for repairs, which was originally reported earlier this week. 

She said no plans have been made to reschedule the closing.

A Forsyth County fire station will close briefly for repairs.

Fire Station 5, located at 2720 Holtzclaw Road, will temporarily close on Friday June 21 so repairs can be made, the county government announced on Tuesday. 

During the closure, responses to calls for service for the Station 5 territory will be answered by companies 1, 9 and 12, 

“Every effort will be made to expedite the needed repairs and return Fire Station 5 to a state of readiness as soon as possible,” Fire Chief Danny Bowman said. “With every action the Forsyth County Fire Department takes, the safety of our citizens is always foremost in our thoughts.”

No timeline has been determine as to how long the repairs will take.
