Rock Shatters Local Business Window

Dec. 5, contact was made with the South Zone concerning damage to on Laurel Springs Parkway. A video surveillance of the property shows a man throwing a rock through the business window shattering both panes of glass. It was also reported that four tires on the company van were slit, the sign in the front window was damaged and four stick signs located at the road were taken from the property.

E.R. Staff Struck With Bed Pan

Dec. 3, a emergency room employee reported an assault. A Cumming Police officer took the report which stated that an intoxicated woman patient struck the employee over the head with a bed pan and scratched his neck.

Apparently the patient had been verbally abusive to all the staff during her visit. The employee was attempting to unhook her from hospital machines when she became physically abusive.

The officer reported that the employee had a cut on his head and several scratches to his upper chest area. The woman, in her defense, stated that she just placed the bed pan on his head like a hat. The suspect will face charges in the Cumming Municipal Court system.

Bullet Holes Found In Residence Home

Dec. 3, a deputy arrived on the scene at River Club Drive in the Chattahoochee River Club subdivision in reference to property damage. He met with the homeowners who stated they had heard a noise in the night but assumed it was just the storm passing through.

They later discovered in the rear of the house dining room area, a metal piece on the floor along with broken glass and a bullet hole. Another bullet hole was discovered under the window which came through the cement siding. The homeowners have sent out a neighborhood alert.

Suspected Shoplifter Responds, “I Have a Lifting Problem”

Dec. 2, Publix on Bethelview Road reported a shoplifter. A Forsyth County deputy met with the store manager who informed him that he had apprehended a shoplifter.

The manager stated he had observed a 44-year-old woman take three Glade air fresheners out of their boxes and place them in her purse, returning the empty box to the shelf. She then continued to shop before entering the checkout line paying for other items but not the air fresheners.

She was taken to manager's office and was questioned about the incident and a previous incident the day before, involving the removal of a bottle of ROC Wrinkle Filler and a bottle of ROC Lift Eye Cream. The woman stated she had a “lifting problem." The suspect will face shoplifting charges for items valued at $62.

Residents Notice Possible Burglary Suspects Vehicle

Nov. 29, a resident on Brambletts Walk reported a burglary to the . The owner told the police officer that she arrived home to find muddy footprints throughout the home.

She proceeded to her bedroom where she found her dresser drawer had been opened and an envelope containing $2,000 in cash and three gold rings were missing.

Neighbors reported seeing a vehicle at the home earlier in the day occupied by who they thought was the lawn care person. Point of entry was a window at the back of the home.

Fire

Forsyth County had a total of 244 incident calls for the week of Nov. 28 – Dec. 5. As reported by Capt. Jason Shivers, there were four structure fires with no injuries, one cooking fire, four brush fires, one gas leak, one downed power line, two carbon monoxide emergencies, one smoke removal, three unauthorized burn calls, one authorized burn call, 29 cancelled in route, eight no incidents found, two smoke scares, 14 false alarms, 145 medical emergencies and two vehicle fires.
