Forsyth Assistant Principal on Medical Leave After Arrest

Matt Elementary School's Rene Westray allegedly obtained a forged prescription at a local Kroger

A Forsyth County Schools assistant principal was recently arrested on charges of violating the controlled substance act.

The Forsyth County News reports that Matt Elementary School’s Rene Westray obtained a forged prescription at a local Kroger and turned herself in after an investigation began in early March.

She was released from the Forsyth County Detention Center on March 21 after posting an $11,110 bond.

The prescription was reportedly for 90, 10-milligram methadone pills.

Westray, who is on medical leave for the rest of the school year, has been employed with the district since 1989 and has been at Matt since 2006.
