Forsyth County Deputy Brandon Wiley is August Deputy of the Month

Deputy Wiley named August Deputy of the Month for helping to locate two missing boys and for foiling a suspected burglary.

The  Precinct of the names Deputy First Class Brandon Wiley as “Deputy of the Month” for August 2011.

According to Capt. Ron Freeman, South Precinct Commander, DFC Wiley was chosen for a variety of incidents and traffic stops he was involved in over the summer.

“Deputy Wiley made several traffic stops that resulted in the arrest of six people--four for outstanding warrants and two for driving without a license,” said Capt. Freeman. “These traffic stops resulted from Deputy Wiley patrolling the subdivisions and business areas, as well as the parks near the lake that are in his beat.”

While on patrol of this area, he noticed a suspicious SUV parked in an unpopulated business complex with the rear hatch opened. During his investigation, he noticed two men, one had a cinder block in his hand, casing the trailer park behind the business complex.

According to the FCSO, Wiley was able to speak with the men in Spanish, who were not successful in hiding their reason for being in the area.

In the third incident, Wiley was instrumental in helping to identify several people suspected of stealing metal from an industrial area.

The fourth incident prompted Sheriff Ted Paxton to send Wiley a letter commending him for his professionalism and thoroughness during an accident that occurred in Forsyth county involving a person from out-of-state.
