UPDATE: Forsyth County Man Shot to Death

The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office is actively investigating the death as a homicide.

Update: 3-9-12, 10:58 a.m.

The  is investigating the apparent shooting death of a man Thursday night.

The victim, 41-year-old Ronald Priester, was found dead by his wife from an apparent gunshot wound in their home on Aldridge Court in the Lake Astoria subdivision in north Forsyth County. She made the discovery upon her return home from an out-of-town business trip.

Deputies responded to a call of a person shot around 8 p.m. at the residence, according to Sheriff Ted Paxton.

"Currently, we couldn't find any evidence of forced entry into the home, and also, robbery doesn't appear to be a motive, nothing was disturbed inside the home," Sheriff Paxton told Channel 2 Action News.

Paxton said another family member was in the home at the time of the incident. 

It is unclear as to the circumstances involving Priester's death, but the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that he may have known his killer.

The death is being actively investigated as a homicide.
